Hugo BINI created LIBCLOUD-891:
----------------------------------

Summary: Use pyvmomi instead of pysphere in compute vsphere driver
?
                 Key: LIBCLOUD-891
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LIBCLOUD-891
             Project: Libcloud
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: Compute
            Reporter: Hugo BINI
            Priority: Minor

As I understand, pysphere does not allow to create/manipulate Nodes and can be
used only for polling. Moreover, it seems that pysphere won't be updated
anymore.
There are some "official" vmware python bindings for the vSphere API.
pyvmomi ( https://github.com/vmware/pyvmomi ) looks greater than the
vsphere-automation-python SDK (
https://code.vmware.com/web/sdk/65/vsphere-automation-python ).
We are not using Libcloud for the moment but are planning to integrate it soon
depending on if it will be, someday, able to orchestrate ESXs. So we would like
to know if something is planned on this subject and/or if merge requests would
be welcome.
Thanks anyway for this impressive piece of work.
