Atle Tokle commented on LOG4J2-2250:
------------------------------------

[~rem...@yahoo.com] It's used because our developement team do not have access
to to production or acceptance test environments. If we need a change in log
configuration that has to be ordered through change management to the
operations department. And if they do something wrong, the only way developers
can see it tell is by checking logs through log-management system.

So we do always keep some logging if log4j initializaion to be able to see what
happends if something go wrong

> Need ISO8601 timestamp for StatusLogger

> We use a log-indexing system that uses the date-format to see where next log
> line begins.
> And have a requirement to standardize on ISO8601 format. But the lines
> written by StatusLogger when Log4j2 has a different format. I would like a
> configuration option that could specify the format. i.e.
> {code:java}
> <configuration verbose="true" status="trace" dateformat="ISO8601" >
> ...
> ...
> </configuration>{code}
