Carter Kozak commented on LOG4J2-3394:
--------------------------------------
I see, the properties-specific configuration handling is evaluated prior to
lookups, which means the raw value including the raw lookup is interpreted as a
level. I think this is a strong counterexample against format-specific
configuration handling, as it can conflict with assumptions we make elsewhere.
I wonder if there’s a more general solution we can use to implement this
feature?

> Tried the new feature introduced in LOG4J2-3341 in hbase.
> I built a tarball and try to start a standalone hbase instance locally, but
> log4j2 failed to load the system properties of rootLogger.
> Will upload the config and error output.
