[~pablojr] I don't see how that helps. The call to LogManager.getRootLogger()
will always ensure Log4j is configured, even if it previously was not. In your
code snippet the appenders variable should never be null or empty UNLESS you
specifically configured Log4j without the root logger referencing an Appender.
Without having looked at the code I would suspect even then Log4j would add a
ConsoleAppender.
