I'm not a Log4j Kotlin API user myself, but happen to be a maintainer. I find it worrying that `log4j-api-kotlin` versions `>=1.5.0` (released on 2024-08-03) does not work with `log4j-core` version `>=2.24.0` (released on 2024-09-03). This makes me think of the following possibilities: - No Log4j Kotlin API users have upgraded their Log4j Core in the last 2 years. - There are not really many Log4j Kotlin API users. - You happen to be the only user determined enough to report this issue. All in all, I find this picture concerning. Instead of saying _"Log4j Kotlin API version X does/doesn't work with Log4j Core version Y"_, maybe we should just retire the project. Note that we have already retired Log4j Scala API on 2026-01-12 — see [this discussion](https://github.com/apache/logging-log4j2/discussions/4021#discussioncomment-15455547). @rturner-edjuster, what would be your take, as a user, regarding this retirement route? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
