That said, people (including maintainers) do CTRL+F to search for the GitHub Issue/PR ID in release notes. This convenience — i.e., not needing to manually find every single possible Issue/PR ID to search for while trying to see if a particular bug is fixed — is worth the extra effort, AFAICT. I find it very useful, and I add it.
