Liviu Ionescu created MYNEWT-549:
------------------------------------

Summary: The 'Everything You Need in a Docker Container' page is
innacurate
                 Key: MYNEWT-549
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYNEWT-549
             Project: Mynewt
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Documentation
         Environment: macOS
            Reporter: Liviu Ionescu
            Assignee: Aditi Hilbert

The https://mynewt.apache.org/latest/os/get_started/docker/ page states

> Docker uses a VirtualBox Linux VM to run containers. A free VirtualBox
> extension pack is required to enable USB2 support.

This information is outdated, the current Docker for macOS no longer uses
VirtualBox, and I doubt support for USB can be enabled as you suggest.

In addition, the latest Docker for macOS is very slow, it takes ages to
complete a build (and when ready, it produces Linux, not macOS, binaries).

It looks like the idea to use docker is not that great, probably the native
route would avoid all these problems.
