   I've had a look at the code for this and I don't see a way to achieve what 
you are asking.
   When the string "v\u010Dera" is read and decoded it is converted to the 
string "včera".
   At some later stage, when the property file is written the character 'č' is 
encoded as "\u010d".
   The encoder only ever uses lower-case hex letters and there is no way for it 
to know that the value was originally written in upper-case.
   Maybe a configuration option, as suggested in the old bug report is the way 
to go but I haven't looked at that option (yet).
