- it could be reproduced outside of NetBeans which confirmed that it is a
JDK bug https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8353950
- JDK patches are available, after discussion various options, it was
decided to apply the patch via JVM agent until fixed in the JDK itself
- NetBeans 26 RC 1 contains the fix, see

testing
