> I ran into this same issue trying to uninstall NetBeans 24 from Windows 11 24H2. I installed NetBeans 24 on Windows 11 before I upgraded to 24H2. Wanted to install NetBeans 25 but couldn't because of an error (maybe this same error). The following worked for me to uninstall NetBeans 24 and install NetBeans 25 on Win 11 24H2: (1) Downloaded the Win 11 install for NetBeans 24 (Apache-NetBeans-24-bin-windows-x64.exe) from https://netbeans.apache.org/front/main/download/nb24/ (2) Deleted folder C:\Program Files\NetBeans-24 because could not reinstall 24 with it present. (3) Installed NetBeans 24 successfully. Then rebooted. (4) Went to Control Panel->Programs and Features, found that NetBeans 24 was listed twice. (5) Uninstalled NetBeans 24 using the older listing on Control Panel->Programs and Features. Uninstalled successfully. (6) Tried to uninstall the other listing on Control Panel->Programs and Features, got a message that it was already uninstalled, would I like to remove it from Programs and Features, I said yes. Second listing was removed. (7) Downloaded the Win 11 install for NetBeans 25 (Apache-NetBeans-25-bin-windows-x64.exe) from https://netbeans.apache.org/front/main/download/archive/ (8) Installed NetBeans 25. It installed successfully and when I ran NetBeans 25 for the first time it asked if I wanted to import the settings from NetBeans 24, I said yes. NetBeans 25 works fine. It worked for me too.
