GitHub user matthiasblaesing added a comment to the discussion: Changing the
default JDK platform

The JDK NetBeans uses can be overriden via the `netbeans.conf` file. That file
has a property `netbeans_jdkhome`, which holds the path to the JDK to use.

The global file can be found in the NetBeans installation folder `c:\Program
Files\Apache NetBeans\etc\netbeans.conf`. If you don't want to change the
default/global value, create a file
`%APPDATA%\NetBeans\<VERSION>\etc\netbeans.conf` and set the property
`netbeans_jdkhome` there:
