GitHub user raymondvangelder added a comment to the discussion: Issues with
Open With and Windows installer

I answered by e-mail, but got no solution.
see my mail. (unfortunately wihout screenprint)
It is impossible to remove 22
I removed 29
I could not find anything about 22 and reinstalled it
Apparently 29 was not completely removed since my projects appeared in the new
29
When I want to open a downloaded file index.php from downloads I get the
message could not find jdk 1.8
when I want to open it netbeans
But the problem that I cannot open a php file with netbeans (open with) exists.

My answer to Neil C Smith <[email protected]>is still relevant.
Here it is (unfortuntely without screenprints). If you want to see them read
the answer mail

Good morning,

I disagree about your opinion on the relevance of the browser.
It is the problem since when I click update in NB 22 I get the message IE 11 is
outdated do you want to look for a replacement.
If I answer NO the update is cancelled.
The update should continue and not stop.
Hence the browser part is relevant and you should repair the installation of
updates ASAP.

I don't know how to delete NB22
Configuration shows only NB 29

Program files shows this

Both are installed on October 2025 and are apparently version 22 (version
101.4.0.0) while NB 29 is

When I look in the about screen I see

When I look in both user and cache directory I cannot find any executable.
When I look in the object in the start entry of NB I see

But in the object (doel) I can't find anything relevant for detecting the
executable of Nertbeans.

Hence I am very disappointed in your support, which does not give me the
feeling that you understand
how the update process works and and how to find to delete version 22.
I stop with spending more time in this and kindly ask you to give me e workable
solution for the problem.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Raymond van Gelder
