I'd prefer not to delay 1.2.0. Users who use Pekko Netty remoting haven't been complaining about the deprecation notice. We also need to update the docs. I just think I would like more engagement from Pekko community on this before doing anything. For now, the key aim is to not remove the code and to consider what the options are.
