The default was switched upstream in part because Maven Portal no longer supports the old style: https://github.com/sbt/sbt/pull/8148 While we don't release through Maven Portal (but via repository.a.o), I'm not sure we should complicate our build by deviating from the upstream default just to support some legacy approach a bit longer. I don't feel too strongly about this, so I won't insist on reverting this change, but when it causes us trouble in the future we should IMO definitely drop it. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
