This was not added to #3432 because it is not needed. The optimization in Akka #32031 targets recursive dequeue across multiple unstarted futures in a partition queue, which delays upstream demand. Since Pekko only allows one future per partition, there are never multiple unstarted futures to dequeue — the situation simply can't arise. The PR's own perPartition == 1 special case (skip recursive dequeue entirely) is effectively what Pekko already does by design. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
