### Motivation Depends on #3651; merge that PR first. Only the final commit contains this follow-up. The default ScalaPB binding can encode generated messages, but decoding fails when `parseFrom` returns the erased `GeneratedMessage` type. ### Modification Resolve the parser's declared return type. Add generated-message round trips, binding overrides, and an isolated JVM check without ScalaPB; the dependency is test-only. ### Result ScalaPB messages round-trip through the existing protobuf serializer while applications without ScalaPB still start normally. ### Tests - Both remote serializer suites pass: 15 tests on JDK 17. - Header, code style, and remote MiMa checks pass. - Full validation runs in CI. ### References Refs #3651 and [akka/akka-core#32070](https://github.com/akka/akka-core/pull/32070). -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
