This issue is no longer present in the current master branch. The earlier `SHOW TABLES` implementation returned lowercase metadata keys instead of the original table names. This was fixed by #14301, which preserves the original table names. The current implementation retains this behavior, and regression tests verify that uppercase table names are returned correctly. I'm closing this issue as resolved.
