   We were thinking of having it as part of annotation layer, providing options 
for linear, exponential, polynomial, etc. using a 
[library](https://github.com/Tom-Alexander/regression-js) (R^2 square and 
equation not shown but it's easy to implement). I guess it could be just a 
trendline option (although that would be less complete(?)) in line chart as 
well if you desire.

   FYI the above change never got merged in and is not being planned to. Just 
saying that it's an option
