   Hey @rusackas @hughhhh, thanks for bringing this up! This SIP focuses on 
foundational work—simple CRUD operations and initial usage in Explore, where 
there's less friction—to observe how users adopt and interact with these 
filters. The goal is to expand naturally into the areas you mentioned (and 
beyond), especially considering past efforts to implement reusable dashboard 
filters (e.g., in edit mode). This would allows us to be more agile and 
incrementally deliver features around this SIP.
   
   >How do we make sure that the work here won't create alot munging code to 
make it work in different parts of the application?
   
   Some adjustments (e.g., new SIPs, design tweaks) might be needed down the 
line, but by starting small with clear, reusable dataset-level APIs, we aim to 
keep future integrations clean and manageable.
   
   TL;DR: Think of this as phase 1—introducing a new entity and laying the 
groundwork—followed by phase 2...N, where we build on it and integrate across 
the app.
