[There's a old discussion thread](https://github.com/apache/superset/discussions/14940) which is very old and inactive, so starting a new one. At my workplace, we have tons of geospatial data which is required to be visualised for various purposes (GeoJSON) The issue is, all of this data is behind REST/HTTP APIs. Started working on a package which allows using SQL to query a generic HTTP API. I know it sounds weird, but it works! Published [this](https://pypi.org/project/rest-db-api/) (relies heavily on [Shillelagh](https://github.com/betodealmeida/shillelagh)) package some years back, but didn't continue as the work was derailed. I am ready to pick this up in if there are more users who want this. Let me know if this sounds like a decent idea. I could come up with a SIP.
