The hide/show toggle in the dashboard UI is a manual, user-driven action and isn't backed by any persistent setting or metadata. All charts are displayed by default when a dashboard loads, and there is no built-in way to have certain charts hidden initially—even if you set them as hidden in chart settings, this state isn't saved or applied on dashboard load. Implementing default hidden charts would require custom development in the dashboard layout or metadata logic, as it's not a feature in the current release.
