GitHub user sunny-singh78277 created a discussion: Persist Dashboard Filter
State When Reopening via URL

1. Feature Request: Persist Dashboard Filter State When Reopening via URL

**Problem**

In Apache Superset (v6.1.0), when a user applies native dashboard filters and
then later reopens the dashboard using the same URL, the previously applied
filter state is lost. Instead, filters revert to their default state (if
configured) or remain empty.

**Expected Behavior**

1.The dashboard should retain the last applied filter state when reopened via
the same URL.
2.Users should not need to reapply filters every time they revisit the
dashboard.

**Actual Behavior**

* Filters are applied correctly during the session.
* However, when the dashboard is closed and reopened via the same link:

  * Filter state is reset
  * Default filters are applied (if any)
  * Previously selected values are not restored

**Steps to Reproduce**

1. Open a dashboard with native filters
2. Apply filter values
3. Click "Apply"
4. Close the dashboard (or open it later via the same URL in a new tab/session)
5. Observe that filters are reset

**Impact**

* Poor user experience for frequently accessed dashboards
* Users must repeatedly reapply the same filters
* Not aligned with expected behavior in modern BI tools

 **Additional Context**

Additionally, there is a UI/UX concern with date filters:

* When changing a date filter, the user must:

  1. Click **"OK"** inside the date picker
  2. Click **"Apply"** inside the filter modal
  3. Click **"Apply filters"** on the dashboard

* This multi-step interaction is not intuitive and leads to a poor user
experience.

**Environment**

* Superset version: 6.1.0
* Deployment: Local setup
* Browser: Chrome (reproducible across browsers)
