The `execute_sql_statements()` function in `superset/sql_lab.py` executes all submitted statements in sequence, but **the `result_set` variable is overwritten on each iteration** of the loop, so only the final statement's result is preserved and returned to the user [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset/sql_lab.py#L481) [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset/sql_lab.py#L518-L532). In other words, SQL Lab does run all your statements (e.g., for DDL/DML side effects), but the response payload only ever contains data from the last `SELECT`. Earlier results are discarded as the loop progresses [[3]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/superset/sql_lab.py#L504-L507). **Workarounds:** - Execute each query separately in its own SQL Lab tab. - If you need combined results, use `UNION ALL` to merge the queries into a single result set. - Use CTEs to structure dependent queries into a single statement.
