This isn't a bug in the Helm chart itself — the base `superset_config.py` template in `_helpers.tpl` correctly uses `env('REDIS_PASSWORD')` for both `REDIS_BASE_URL` and `RESULTS_BACKEND` [[1]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/helm/superset/templates/_helpers.tpl#L72-L119). The `GLOBAL_ASYNC_QUERIES_CACHE_BACKEND` and `GLOBAL_ASYNC_QUERIES_RESULTS_BACKEND` blocks you're seeing with hard-coded passwords are **not part of the Helm chart's base template** — there is no such block in [`_helpers.tpl`](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/helm/superset/templates/_helpers.tpl#L65-L137). They must be coming from your own `configOverrides` in `values.yaml` [[2]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/helm/superset/templates/_helpers.tpl#L121-L127), where the password was written as a literal string (`"from-secret"`) instead of being read from the environment. The fix is to use `env('REDIS_PASSWORD')` in those overrides, just like the base template does: ```python GLOBAL_ASYNC_QUERIES_CACHE_BACKEND = { "CACHE_TYPE": "RedisCache", "CACHE_REDIS_HOST": env("REDIS_HOST"), "CACHE_REDIS_PORT": int(env("REDIS_PORT", "6379")), "CACHE_REDIS_PASSWORD": env("REDIS_PASSWORD", ""), ... } GLOBAL_ASYNC_QUERIES_RESULTS_BACKEND = { "backend": "redis", "host": env("REDIS_HOST"), "port": int(env("REDIS_PORT", "6379")), "password": env("REDIS_PASSWORD", ""), ... } ``` The `env()` helper is defined at the top of the generated config [[3]](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/829e4d92d91ceae4b43b1ed3b063ffe45377799c/helm/superset/templates/_helpers.tpl#L69-L70), so it's available in any `configOverrides` snippet. As long as `supersetNode.connections.redis_password` is set in your `values.yaml`, the `REDIS_PASSWORD` environment variable will be present in the pods and `env('REDIS_PASSWORD')` will resolve correctly at runtime. <!-- Dosu Comment Footer --> *To reply, just mention [@dosu](<https://go.dosu.dev/dosubot?utm_source=github&utm_medium=bot-comment&utm_campaign=github-comment-footer-20260415&utm_content=reply-with-mention&utm_term=apache%2Fsuperset>).* --- Docs are dead.
