@rusackas fixed in 9ee59320d9: `_cancel_operation` now re-raises `SoftTimeLimitExceeded` ahead of each broad `except` (cancel_operation, close_operation, close). The pending-state poll also no longer runs a second full query after `db.session.refresh`, and polls back off from 0.1s up to the configured interval.
