Review Comment:
Good catch, confirmed with a failing test and fixed in
bcf24ce6ed21d430dd1d207ddc9671071132282d.
When `temporal_column` is omitted, `filters` is omitted, `time_range` is
supplied and the chart has no MCP subject marker, `merge_update_form_data` now
adopts the saved filter as the binding if exactly one native SIMPLE/WHERE
`TEMPORAL_RANGE` filter exists, whatever its column. The update rewrites it in
place and keeps its subject. Your example now yields a single `ShipDate` filter
with "Last month", and `time_range: null` resets that same filter to "No
filter" (no second binding). This matches master's shared Gantt reconciliation,
which also treats exactly one native SIMPLE/WHERE TEMPORAL_RANGE as the binding
for an explicit temporal update.
With zero such filters the behaviour is unchanged: the dataset-default
binding is added. With several, none is adopted because picking one would be a
guess. The saved filters stay byte-for-byte and the default binding is
appended. An explicit `temporal_column` (or a changed native subject) still
takes precedence as before.
Tests (`tests/unit_tests/mcp_service/chart/test_bullet_chart.py`):
- `test_bullet_range_only_update_adopts_single_unmarked_native_binding`:
update and null-clear across the immediate, preview-first and cached update
paths.
- `test_bullet_range_only_update_keeps_several_unmarked_native_bindings`:
pins the ambiguous case.
