**Problem / use case** As noted here in this discussion: https://github.com/apache/superset-kubernetes-operator/discussions/314 , Superset's deprecated Helm charts is able to import datasets from a database automatically through the `extraConfigs` property[^1] but the utilisation of Kubernetes custom resources (CR) may provide a more suitable alternative. The most pressing reason for the implementation of CRs for importing datasets is the deprecation of the Helm Charts for database imports. As noted in Kubernetes' own documentation, CRs fits the needs of this repo[^2]. **Proposed behavior** The proposed behaviour of this request is still under discussion and this issue will be updated accordingly.
