Hi everyone! Following up on our team’s earlier message, we’ve put together an implementation plan for tooltip-only metrics in ECharts timeseries charts and would appreciate feedback. The goal is to let users select additional metrics that appear in hover tooltips without being plotted or added to the legend. For example, a chart could plot sales while showing quantity sold only in the tooltip. Our proposed approach is to: - Add a “Tooltip (metrics)” field to the shared timeseries query controls and update the form-data types. - Update “buildQuery.ts” to fetch the additional metrics without duplicates and preserve them through the pivot step. - Update “transformProps.ts” to exclude these metrics from plotted series and chart totals, then match their values to the appropriate tooltip using the series dimensions and x-axis value. - Adjust “contribution.py” so then percentage calculations use only plotted metrics, including when dimensions produce multi-level columns. Tooltip-only metrics would retain their original values. We plan to test duplicate selections, grouped series, tooltip matching, and stacked/contribution charts, and check that charts without tooltip-only metrics continue to behave as before.
