Review Comment:
Yes. Fixed in e0145e7cd6befa328b77b7a7aaa96a9784728e9d: blank chart names
normalize to None before the field length constraint, including
chart_name/name/title/slice_name aliases. Dashboard creation preserves its
explicit-empty-string behavior; whitespace-only titles fall back before length
validation. Required update/duplicate dashboard titles report empty_text
instead of a length error for long blanks.
Regression test:
tests/unit_tests/mcp_service/test_sanitization_warning_inputs.py::test_blank_titles_normalize_before_length.
Against the reviewed source at 619fb05753d733106d99cce0dfb8a41eb7165d48, 132
cases fail; they pass with the change. Coverage includes string/bytes/bytearray
inputs, every alias, and blanks of length 251, 501, and 10001. Empty-string
cases retain the established semantics.

retain literal whitespace and have no optional blank-name fallback or HTML

names retain literal whitespace and have no optional blank-name fallback or

intentionally retain and count whitespace, and their after-validator checks
decoded strings.

generate_explore_link has no chart-name field.
- superset/mcp_service/chart/schemas.py:6574 — not affected:

- superset/mcp_service/dataset/schemas.py:879 — not affected: slice_name
here is response metadata, not a title-writing request.
Validation: Docker pytest selected regressions: 436 passed (228 failed / 208
passed with reviewed schemas). Related Python suites: 3012 passed and 1846
passed. Changed-file pre-commit passed.

Review Comment:
Fixed in e0145e7cd6befa328b77b7a7aaa96a9784728e9d: chart and dashboard title
guards decode UTF-8 bytes/bytearray before sanitization and length validation,
preserving stripped-only rejection and server-only warnings. I expanded the
existing byte-input parametrization to all chart/dashboard name models and
added alias/length-boundary cases. The related dashboard-slug coercion
regression is covered in 746c57391cecb0fba4771a678914bfa1131efd73.
Regression tests in
tests/unit_tests/mcp_service/test_sanitization_warning_inputs.py:
- test_sibling_byte_strings_are_sanitized_before_coercion — the 12 added
title-model cases fail with reviewed source and pass after.
- test_byte_title_sanitized_length_boundary — 64 cases fail before and pass
after; over-limit rejection controls remain passing.
- test_byte_title_removed_content_is_rejected — 12 cases fail before and
pass after.
- test_byte_object_name_trims_before_length — all 8 sibling-name cases fail
before and pass after.
- test_byte_dashboard_slug_normalizes_before_length — all 6 cases fail
before the slug change and pass after.

- superset/mcp_service/dataset/schemas.py:699 — not affected: metric names
retain literal whitespace and have no optional blank-name fallback or HTML
sanitizer; Pydantic decodes bytes before the existing after-validator rejects
blank names.
- superset/mcp_service/dataset/schemas.py:794 — not affected:
update_dataset_metric inherits the literal metric-name after-validator.
- superset/mcp_service/dataset/schemas.py:805 — not affected:
create_dataset_metric inherits the literal metric-name after-validator.
- superset/mcp_service/dataset/schemas.py:1010 — not affected: update table
names retain literal whitespace and have no optional blank-name fallback or
HTML sanitizer; the after-validator checks decoded names.
- superset/mcp_service/theme/schemas.py:138 — not affected: theme names
intentionally retain and count whitespace, and their after-validator checks
decoded strings.

Validation: reviewed schemas produce 228 failures / 208 passes for the 436
selected cases; the changed schemas pass all 436. The separate slug regression
produced 6 failures before its change. Changed-file pre-commit passed; touched
Jest suites: 32 passed. Real-LLM checks were excluded.
