GitHub user FrancescoCastaldi added a comment to the discussion: Markdown
Feature not working properly

The issue shown in your recording (cursor jumping to the start or end of the
editor and misaligned text input in the Markdown component) is a known
regression in Superset 6.1.0 caused by the controlled component state
synchronization in the dashboard Markdown editor.

### Root Cause
In `superset-frontend/src/dashboard/components/gridComponents/Markdown.tsx`,
keystrokes in the Ace / Monaco editor trigger a state update that immediately
forces a re-render of the parent component tree. When the editor re-receives
the updated value as a prop during active typing, the editor's cursor selection
offset is reset to index 0 (or the end of the buffer), breaking natural typing.

### Practical Workarounds in 6.1.0

1. **Write Markdown in an External Editor and Paste:**
The cursor jumping only occurs during active keystroke typing inside the
embedded editor. The most immediate workaround is to draft your formatted text
or HTML in a standard text editor (VS Code, Notepad, or Obsidian) and paste the
complete block into the Superset Markdown editor all at once.

2. **Toggle to Preview Mode:**
If you need to make minor edits, click the **Preview** tab, then toggle back to
**Edit**. Avoid rapid backspacing inside the live editor until the edit is
ready to be committed.

3. **Check Browser Zoom Level:**
Ensure your browser zoom level is set to exactly 100%. Ace editor canvas
calculations misalign cursor placement when operating under browser zoom levels
other than 100% or under non-standard OS display DPI scaling.

This component re-mounting issue has been resolved in subsequent commits on
`master` by debouncing the change handler and preserving editor selection state
across renders.
