### Summary **ON HOLD — pending SIP-224** (#42806) and the parent Native AI proposal #42805. This is a draft follow-up, not a request to merge AI functionality before that decision. The updated Superset FastMCP extra installs MCP SDK 2.x, while the Native AI external client imports the removed `streamablehttp_client`, reads the old camelCase model attributes, passes a timedelta timeout, and pins its optional extra to SDK 1.x. Enabling both extras either fails dependency resolution or breaks external tool discovery/calls. This change aligns the AI extra and client with SDK 2, manages the Streamable HTTP client lifetime explicitly, and preserves configured-only headers and bounded timeouts. The SDK remains optional and is imported only when connecting to an external server. ### Validation - 75 AI MCP tests pass, including a real SDK server over in-memory protocol streams, tool schema discovery, non-text result bounds, and protocol error handling. - Pre-commit passes for all files changed by the branch relative to current Apache master. - No deployment or live external MCP service was exercised. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
