### Root Cause Analysis & Solution In `superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-echarts/src/Timeseries/transformProps.ts`, `usesCustomLegend` was only set to true when `legendType === LegendType.Scroll` or when `legendOrientation` was `Top` or `Bottom`. When users configured a Plain list legend positioned on the Left or Right, Superset fell back to ECharts' native canvas legend. Native canvas legends do not trigger flexbox reflow in the chart container, causing multi-column legends to expand over the plot area and clip axis labels and series lines. #### Solution 1. In `transformProps.ts`, enable `usesCustomLegend` for Plain list mode across all orientations. 2. In `TimeseriesLegend.tsx`, support vertical orientations (`isVertical = orientation === LegendOrientation.Left || orientation === LegendOrientation.Right`) with `flex-direction: column` and responsive max-width. 3. In `EchartsTimeseries.tsx`, allow the full canvas height when the legend is aligned to the side.
