I closed this PR for now, until https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset/pull/11667 is merged. I moved a bugfix for title not updating to a separate PR - https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset/pull/11960. When https://github.com/apache/incubator-superset/pull/11667 is merged, I'll revisit this one and apply Grace's suggestions regarding optimizing API calls.
