Volodymyr Panivko commented on THRIFT-4804:
-------------------------------------------
Current master already implements this. PR #2863 (merged on 2023-10-11 as
commit 8aa22a42fac6957df705059ec88ef9b858d9bcc0) added the composer.json
archive.exclude rules that trim the Packagist package down to the PHP library
files and a small set of top-level metadata files, instead of shipping the
whole repository. As of 2026-09-02 this issue appears stale-open, so I am
closing it as Implemented.

> We install apache/thrift PHP client library via composer (example: composer
> require apache/thrift:0.12) and after installing, we noticed that the entire
> apache/thrift git repo is there, along with all the C/C++, Go, Java, Python,
> and so on, code. Because composer and packagist are strictly a PHP thing, is
> it possible to strip out the unrelated items to the packagist deployment?
