The {{uuid}} base type
([THRIFT-5587|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-5587], 0.17.0) is
not implemented for Erlang.
[t_erl_generator.cc|https://github.com/apache/thrift/blob/master/compiler/cpp/src/thrift/generate/t_erl_generator.cc#L886]
has no {{TYPE_UUID}} case in its type switches and fails generation, and
{{lib/erl}} has no uuid in its protocol layer.

Filed so the gap is on record; the fix needs the library side too (read and
write of the 16-byte value in the binary and compact protocols, and a
representation, probably a 36-character binary like the other dynamic languages
use). Reproduced on master at 3af0cfff1.
