Ricardo RodrÃguez commented on XE-188:
--------------------------------------
I've added a link in the related issues pointing to XWIKI-1079.
As far as i can understand, you are speaking about the "default" LDAP support
provided by XWiki out of the box.
There is this XWIKI-1079 issue proposing an alternative class.
What I don't understand is if LDAPAuthenticater.class provides all the
features included in com.xpn.xwiki.plugin.ldap.LDAPPlugin and it is proposing
some new ones or if it depends on the default plugin. Sorry if this doubt could
sound stupid.
If it includes all of them, could this code substitute the "default" plugin?
It seems better to me to work only on one class than keep working in
bugs/improvements of the default class having an alternative that seems to go
in the right direction.
Thanks!

> I can log in as a LDAP user, but have no rights at all, even to view any
> page. This is because an LDAP user is created automatically, but not added to
> any of the groups (in version 1.1.2 a user was automatically added to
> XWikiAllGroup).
> So there is no use of LDAP, until administrator gives rights to particular
> user.
