Personally, I test by invoking the test-patch.sh in a source checkout with the
patch applied. Then {{--project=hadoop}} is enough for me to give it example
JIRA keys to test. If you also pass {{--plugins=shadedclients}} (or whatever
new plug-in you want to test) then it'll just run that test instead of the full
multi-hour suite.
