It's been two years since this was opened. Since that time:
* Several bugs with duplicate logs have been fixed (YETUS-13 is still hanging
around though)
* a lot of interesting failures have come from Hadoop that demonstrated that
junit doesn't always report all failures or run all tests under certain
circumstances.
It's pretty clear to me at this point in time that without YETUS-587, reporting
mvn test stdout even if we don't detect a unit failure is pretty much a
requirement. Surefire/junit is just too unreliable.
I'm tempted to close this as Won't Fix.
