It would appear that 



  was:In docker 17.12+, mounting non-existent volume creates a directory.  This 
breaks Apache Yetus that expected the older behavior of not creating anything 
until the container accessed it.  We will need to audit every volume attempt 
and be certain to only mount the parent directory.
