* I took another pass through releases.md and readme.md, cleaning up quite a
bit of stuff (grammar, spelling, http -> https, Kengo's comment, ...)
hopefully enabling less grumbling from [email protected]
* Enabled better GPG support so that signing releases in the Docker image
actually works
* added a gpg2 profile for those systems where gpg2 specifically needs to be
called (hello os x)
* apache pom bumped to 21
* -Papache-release is now required to get a source tar ball
* i did keep the bits there (just commented out) if we need to undo that in the
future though
* removed a lot of excess maven plugin information and just letting apache pom
dictating it
* added the necessary maven magic to turn the autogenerated apache pom source
release into one that matches our previous naming scheme and in the proper
location
* set minimum jdk to 8
* updated a bunch of other maven plugins to newer bits and fixed a few floating
plugin version numbers to the top level pom
* yanked gnupg-agent and pinentry-curses out of main dockerfile and into the
build dockerfile
