I did some research into this today.

Basically, github checks is a way for github to wrap the status of a github app 
with their visuals.  It is only available to Github Apps and can only be used 
via a callback.  That means that the only place where checks might work that is 
on (AFAIK) anyone's roadmap would be as part of YETUS-578.  Using a Jenkins 
plugin to provide a webhook that Github could use to call back into Yetus to 
display (whatever).

That said, we might want to integrate into the Github Status API.
