Allen Wittenauer resolved YETUS-435.
------------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix
Closing as won't fix.
There isn't much point in trying to work around deficiencies in the Hadoop
build like this one here. The project has mostly codified that they aren't
interested in supporting anything but Linux on x86 (and begrudgingly Windows).
The folks who were interested in a PowerPC build appear to have disappeared.
At some point, there will be recognition that leveldbjni hasn't been updated in
years, won't be getting updated, and they'll move on to something else. At
that point, this issue will go away.
> hadoop: always build a custom leveldbjni

> Apache Hadoop needs a shared library that is normally embedded in a
> dependency's jar file. This breaks all but four platforms. Response from
> Hadoop community has been that it is the user's responsibility to provide a
> working jar. Therefore, we need to fix this in the Yetus personality so that
> ASF Jenkins ppc64le builds in the Docker container work properly when custom
> maven repos are used.
