Threads aren't exactly the concept you ask for, because the include the messages before the message-id in question as well. Nonetheless, maybe the following helps: % notmuch show $(notmuch search --output=threads $MESAGEID) or % notmuch search --output=messages $(notmuch search --output=threads $MESAGEID)
