1) I have published a short, but hopefully clear statement banning LLM use for contributions to Notmuch. I understand that both the policy and the lack of concensus building may annoy some people, but as the primary person reviewing contributions and responsible for their long term maintenance, this is non-negotiable for me.
https://git.notmuchmail.org/git/notmuch/tree/CONTRIBUTING Notmuch remains free software under the GPL3 or later, so of course you can modify it how you like, and publish those modifications as you choose. You just may not be able to upstream some changes, but realistically that has always been the case. 2) Tangentially related, Carl had to replace the git web front end due to load from (presumed) LLM scrapers. There may be be a few remaining issues with git.notmuchmail.org, or links to git.notmuchmail.org in other places. I think I got most of the boroken links to git.notmuchmail.org, but see (3). 3) Write access to the wiki as documented in https://notmuchmail.org/wikiwriteaccess/ should be working again. It got taken down during the same scraper-bot response. d
