If DVI is selected then the monitor goes to standby. When VGA is selected a nice Linux console appears. I don't know if this is interesting: nvidia proprietary driver outputs nothing to DVI until I disconnect the VGA cable. Might be possible to adjust with some driver option probably, did not investigate... What else could I try?
