Please include dmesg + xorg logs for both cases.
The only relevant change I see in 4.9.8..4.910 is that the HDA ELD reporting
was fixed, which should have enabled audio to work over HDMI. Could have been
something as silly as a slight timing change which triggers another
pre-existing issue.
