Same issue, Ubuntu 17 with kernel 4.10.0.32.32
kernel.log shows:

fifo: gr engine fault on channel 10, recovering...
Then the machine hangs (frozen, but can still move the cursor) and I have to
power off. It's pretty regular at this point, so if more info is required let
me know what and how to get it.
