yes, message and audio connections should visually differ from each
other ... trying to steal some ideas from pd's graph-on-parent or max's
bpatcher is not a bad idea, either ...

i mainly chose qt, because the qgraphicsview is really comfortable to
work with, while gtk lacked a good canvas class ...
