hm ... seems there is no check if the portaudio device is already open ...

this is a different bug. it was bug in the jack part of portaudio ...
and has been fixed earlier this year
(http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.audio.portaudio.devel/3413)

either upgrade portaudio, lobby your distributor to do so ... or compile
it from svn :)
