hi pat & phil,

i have been using swingosc in combination with supercollider for some
time, and i must say the design of decoupling user interface and audio
engine is quite interesting ...

for now, there won't be the notion of a user interface in the nova
server ... however i would find it rather interesting to have a separate
gui application, that is using osc to communicate with the synthesis
engine ... one could even think of a synth gui builder (maybe inspired
by khagan [1]) ...
this could be something like a side-project of supernova, which could
also be used in combination with other computer music systems (pd, max,
supercollider, csound) ...

i have some trivial code lying around, that i once used for a concert,
some precise sliders sending osc messages ... most of the stuff has been
hardcoded and so prbly has to be rewritten anyway ...

what do you guys think? i suppose, it would simplify the development of
widgets and increase the targeted audience ...

cheers, tim
